Beaphar Cana Grit contains both insoluble and soluble grit in the form of fine, specially selected gravel and oyster shell. Fine gravel is classed as insoluble grit, and this is essential for birds to maintain optimum digestion. The fine gravel stays in the gizzard to act as ‘teeth’, helping to grind down food. The oyster shell is classed as soluble grit. Once ingested, this supports the grinding action of food, and then gradually dissolves to provide a valuable source of calcium and minerals for your bird.
