Each pump is optimised for aquariums of different sizes. The Axis 20 is suitable for aquariums up to 56L (or 15 gallons), the Axis 40 for aquariums up to 150L (or 40 gallons), and the Axis 90 for aquariums up to 340L (or 90 gallons).
