Beaphar Lactol Kitten Milk is a complete replacement feed for newborn and orphaned kittens that has a superior amino acid content and is enriched with essential vitamins and minerals, providing a perfectly balanced complete feed. Made from easily digested whey products it closely resembles natural queen’s milk. Ultra-filtration concentrates the proteins, and a slow drying process during production preserves the protein molecules, making it more nutritionally valuable.
1. Using the scoop provided, add Beaphar Lactol Kitten Milk to warm water (allow boiled water to cool before use) and stir until completely dissolved.
2. Allow to cool until lukewarm (38C or blood temperature).
The use of proper feeding equipment is highly recommended, such as the Beaphar Feeding Set or Beaphar Feeding Syringes. These should always be clean and sterile. Beaphar Lactol can also be mixed with cold water for older cats.
Prepared Beaphar Lactol Kitten can be refrigerated for 24 hours but should be reheated to 38C or blood temperature before feeding to young animals.
COMPLETE DIET: For un-weaned kittens. It is important to weigh young kittens on a daily basis so that you can compare their daily growth increase with the growth tables from your breeder or vet.
Recommended dilution: Using the scoop provided, add 31g (7 level scoops) to 100ml warm water. 1 litre of prepared Beaphar Lactol Kitten Milk contains approximately 1250 kcal.
Use the table below for approximate feeding guidelines. The volume per day MUST be split across the recommended number of feeds per day.
The Beaphar Lactol Feeding Set contains a feeding bottle, four teats and a cleaning brush. This bottle is designed for feeding newborn and growing animals (puppies, kittens, guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs etc.) It can also be used for feeding sick or recuperating animals. This set is a ideal addition to the Lactol range of milk powders.
1. Ensure all equipment is clean and sterile before use, preferably by soaking in a sterilising solution.
2. Mix the milk replacer as directed and allow to cool until lukewarm (38C or blood temperature).
3. Puncture the top of the teat with a thick needle or cut a small piece off the top with scissors. Be careful: too large an opening in the teat can cause gagging.
4. Put a suitable amount of prepared milk replacer into the bottle and ensure it is re-secured properly. (If using Beaphar Lactol, refer to the feeding guidelines on the tub)
5. Gently insert the teat into the animal’s mouth, release a few drops into the cheek, and allow to swallow. DO NOT SQUEEZE HARD in case you force liquid into the lungs.
6. Do not allow young animals to chew on the teat. If an animal is chewing rather than sucking, it has finished feeding and the bottle should be withdrawn.
7. Clean the bottle and rubber teat thoroughly after each use. If dish-washing liquid is used, rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Be prepared to repeat this every 2-3 hours until the animal is strong enough to feed from a bottle.
Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.
Store in a dry cool place away from light. Dispose of any packaging in the household rubbish.
